Product Review: theBalm Cosmetics Stainiac

With my impending trip to Paris and my obsession with having the perfectly flushed, look-alive cheeks at all times (necessary for us paler ladies) I was thrilled when I saw this little product in my Birchbox. At just .04 oz it's perfect for touch-ups on the go and mid-flight sprucing up.

The Claim: "Stainiac hint of tint works with all skin tones...Fear not those dreaded streaks that most stains leave behind -- Stainiac's water-based formula is designed to give you more time before the stain sets."

The Good: This truly is the best multiuse stain I've tried. It blends easily into a sheer wash of color. With one layer you get a natural and subtle pinch of color, with two you get a more noticeable yet flushed. The gel formula feels light on the skin and the beauty queen shade was perfect for my light, neutral-toned skin. It looks pretty on lips as well.

The Bad: Just like any stain, this is a tad drying on lips. A quick swipe of balm over it is a quick fix for that. If you don't have a makeup sponge handy when you apply it, it will also stain your fingers as you rub it in --which is annoying. The price seems a little steep for such a small bottle but we'll see how long it lasts.

The Verdict: I'm smitten with this product thus far. I plan to take it on the long flight to Paris and see how it fares.
