Product Review: EOS Shave Cream

Shaving cream isn't something I'd usually think to experiment with. Usually I pick up whatever brand is on sale and that's that. Well, on a recent trip to Target it just so happened at eos shave cream was on sale and I took the opportunity to give it a whirl. I've used the brand's lip balm - which is great - and have been meaning to try more of their products.

The Claim: "....made with natural aloe, oat, shea butter and antioxidant vitamins E and C to leave your skin looking radiantly healthy. This non-foaming cream boosts skin’s moisture level and keeps it smooth long after you’re done shaving. It’s so moisturizing, you can shave wet or dry. And eos provides a closer shave, even helping to prevent those little razor bumps."

The Good: I really wasn't expecting a much different shaving experience with this cream as opposed to my normal foaming variety, but I was happily surprised. Because this is a cream and not a foam, it doesn't have many of the irritating chemicals found in other shaving creams/gels. It has a nice scent and my legs truly were smoother after using eos. The formula is paraben and phalate free which is great and the bottle is recyclable plastic so it own't leave a rust ring in the shower. My skin did look great after using this and wasn't burning in need of lotion right after I dried off.

The Bad: It takes a few pumps to get the right amount out of the bottle which is just an annoying little side feature of the packaging. As for the product itself, the instructions say to use a thin layer but I've found that I prefer a little extra to really coat my legs. The price is the thing that bothers me most. It's a quality product but I can't envision paying $6 for shaving cream instead of $2 every time I need a new bottle.

The Verdict: I love it; if it's on sale I'm stocking up!
